- Reopening 1st April 2025
Collect your free activity sheet from the castle entrance hall. Hunt high and low for items hidden in plain sight or use clues to track down castle treasure. Take your completed sheets to the Gift Shop for a small prize.
Prepare for battle and step back into history by rummaging through the dressing up box in the ballroom. Re-enact daring feats and take some fun family portraits in costume or using our character boards.
Seasonal family friendly activities are often available, scroll down to the Seasonal Events section on this page.
Explore our adventure playgrounds hidden in the woods. Under 5’s can climb and swing like monkeys in their own safe space. Our forest play area for ages 6-16 years features a fantastic assault course for children to run, jump, balance, climb, and swing among the trees. It includes a wooden castle fort perfect for imaginative play and a sheltered picnic area with rustic log seating.
The adventure playgrounds are within Diana’s Grove; a 2 acre woodland home to some of the tallest trees in the country. Families can seek out the many paths and a ruined Kirk. Collect fallen leaves, sticks and pines cones to create some natural artwork, play hide and seek or try to spot a red squirrel amongst the treetops.
Visit our Red Deer Park where at the weekends you can take part in feeding sessions and learn all about the red deer at 12.30 and 14.30. Timings and days can be subject to change, please call ahead to enquire.
Red deer are curious and will often walk towards you and pose for photos if you stand next to their enclosure at the top of the small grassy hill near the Tullibardine Restaurant entrance.
Enjoy the many open spaces and lawns around the castle grounds where children are free to play tag, do cartwheels and play games.
Hercules Garden is a beautiful 9-acre space for families to experience nature. Complete with sculptures, plants and ponds, plus resident ducks and geese that have their very own houses on little islands.
Children are encouraged to have freedom to explore but we ask that parents keep a close eye, especially around the areas of the burn that runs through the grounds and the ponds in the walled garden.
Grab a bite to eat from the Tullibardine Restaurant. This relaxing lunch destination has seating indoors and on our outdoor terrace overlooking the private gardens. Enjoy home baking created daily by our in-house chefs, as well as locally sourced Scottish produce. Our menus change weekly and include seasonal ingredients where possible. We also cater to suit a range of ages, tastes and dietary requirements.
Cool down with a delicious ice cream from the Cannon food cabin that also serves hot drinks, homemade traybakes and snacks. The Cannon is situated on the lawn between the Diana’s Grove and the car park.
Alternatively, bring a picnic and enjoy lunch on the castle green where there are plenty of picnic benches.
