This season, with the rise in popularity of Staycations within the UK and Scotland, we are delighted to have two new unique holiday accommodation offerings. Situated within Highland Perthshire, along with an abundance of wildlife and walking trails right from the doorstep, these properties are the ultimate retreat.
A little-known piece of the Scottish landscape has been opened up as a holiday destination for the first time on Atholl Estates. Sitting on a stunning spot in the Tulliemet valley, our new shepherds’ huts command breathtaking views across Strathtay. Offering the ideal glamping getaway, they are surrounded by an abundance of wildlife, from osprey, nesting eagles, and deer to newly-arrived resident beavers in the Tulliemet River.
Our shepherds’ huts were lovingly handcrafted in Cumbria and designed for couples seeking a high-class glamping experience. They have been beautifully decorated with modern fabrics from Korla and an eclectic ‘gathering’ of antique and quirky curios.
Comfort is at the fore, with a king-size bedchamber, hand-stitched quilts, hot shower, fully fitted kitchen, electric underfloor heating, and log burning stoves. Combined with outdoor hammocks, a fire pit surrounded by wooden armchairs, and sheep wool rugs, the shepherds’ huts offer guests an unparalleled way to experience Scotland’s natural environment in luxurious comfort.
Jane Bonsor, Founder and Creative Director of Korla, a company that specialises in printed interiors fabrics, led the design of the huts from start to finish. With a fashion background, the approach was one of creating a ‘collection’ for a very special home.

Newly renovated Clachan Cottage adds to our Highland Lodge stays. Clachan Cottage lies on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park near Struan, overlooking the spectacular Highland Perthshire countryside. Located next to Clachan Farmhouse, these two properties taken together can offer a place for friends and families to relax and connect within a beautiful setting.
The property itself features a modern and spacious kitchen and dining area, the cosy sitting room with a log burning stove offers a blend of old and new, one double and one twin bedroom, a stylish family bathroom, and the all-important brightly coloured front porch – ideal for muddy boots after a day of exploring the Scottish countryside.
Additionally, the cottage has an adjoining large recreational space that can be used for activities such as ping pong, yoga, or whatever takes your fancy. This works really well for people also staying at Clachan Farmhouse, as it offers a large indoor space.
There is also a fire pit, ideal for keeping warm and relaxing whilst gazing up at the starlit skies of the Highlands.

Guests of the huts and cottage will also have access to all of the activities on our 145,000-acre estate, including 50 miles of waymarked walks and cycle paths and ranger-led nature trails, as well as Blair Castle, home of the Dukes of Atholl, and its walled garden and sculpture trail.
Also new to this season are two new activity offerings. Atholl Estates is one of the only places in Scotland to have visible signs of Beavers. Join our specialist guide on a dusk Beaver Tour.
If you want to explore more of the wilderness of Atholl, our Luxury Highland Pony picnics walk. Your expert guide/pony man dressed in traditional tweeds and listen to stories from his twenty years on the estate. After reaching Lady March’s Cairn, you can sit back and take in the views with a delicious locally sourced, Scottish produce picnic.
