October School Holiday Ranger Activities

Discover exciting children’s activities on Atholl Estates this October. Our Ranger, Julia, has an action-packed programme during the October holidays. From Children’s events like Halloween games, spooky crafts and nature walks.

We ask for a small cash donation in exchange for your children’s session. All proceeds go directly to The Cairngorms to help care for wildlife, maintain paths and car parks. Ensuring both our enjoyment of the outdoors and the thriving of natural habitats.

Information Centre: The Information Centre is the white building at the back of the Bridge of Tilt car park.

Make a Leaf Wreath

Monday 12th Oct | 11am – 12pm
Information Centre

Make an easy autumnal wreath to take home.  We’ll have some other crafty bits and colouring sheets to keep you entertained.

Best for: Suitable for all ages

Finding us: Meet Julia at the Information Centre in Blair Atholl (next door to the chippy). The car park is free and there are toilets next door to the centre.


Pumpkin People

Wednesday 14th October | 11am – 12pm
Information Centre, Blair Atholl

Create a pumpkin person with wiggly limbs, plus crafts and colouring.

Best for: Age 5 and up.

Finding us: Meet Julia at the Information Centre in Blair Atholl (next door to the chippy). The car park is free and there are toilets next door to the centre.


Spiders!

Friday 16th October | 11am – 12pm
Information Centre, Blair Atholl

Learn about our 8-legged friends with games, stories and a search to find them.

Best for: Age 5 and up.

Family Castle Grounds Walk

Sunday 18th October | 12.30pm

A gentle castle grounds stroll to learn about history and nature.

Finding us: Meet Julia at the Red Deer Park in the castle grounds at 12.30pm, the walk will start after the deer feeding. Grounds or Castle ticket is required to join the walk.


Shrunken Heads

Monday 19th October| 11am – 12pm
Information Centre, Blair Atholl

Make a spooky shrunken head with an apple – they get creepier looking the longer you keep them!

Best for: Age 7 and up.

Paper Luminaries

Wednesday 21st October| 11am – 12pm
Information Centre, Blair Atholl

Make an autumnal design for a battery tea light candle. We’ll have some other crafty bits and colouring sheets to keep you entertained.

Halloween Games

Friday 23rd October| 11am – 12pm
Information Centre, Blair Atholl

Halloween themed games – pin the tail on the black cat, zombie musical statues and more!

Best for: Suitable for all ages.

Please note: Children must be accompanied by an adult. A donation pot will be available at each event, and we would greatly appreciate any contribution you feel is appropriate for the session you attend.
