Horse trials to draw worldwide visitors

Over 45,000 visitors are expected to travel from across the globe to watch an estimated 1800 horses compete in the annual Land Rover Blair Castle International Horse Trials, taking place between Thursday 23 and Sunday 26 August.

One of the highlights of the weekend will be watching international riders competing in the finale of the Event Rider Masters series.

The chosen charity for this year My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

Other events taking place throughout the four days, include Cross Country, Highland Pony Show, British Show Jumping and Pony Club Mounted Games. Shop around the 200 stalls, or watch the Bruadar Country Fair, which includes Quack Commandos, Pig Racing, Vintage Tractors and the Horse Power Cossack Show.

Then journey up to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere of the castle restaurant on Friday and Saturday, which will be open from 5pm until 930pm, a 2 course menu is £13.25 and 3 courses are £16.25, the restaurant is licensed to serve beer and wine.
